I must say that I had to think twice before I write
this article as I know some of the reader might not feel comfortable reading
this…but, this is one post that too good to be left unshared. Hahahaha. Yeah,
it started as casual outing watching volley ball tournament but end up as one
of the most memorable event this year. So, what is it about Sibu Super Series?
Well, it gathers the best team around Sarawak to participate in Super Series
held at Rejang Park. Me and my friend (Mr.
Alex) come straight from MSSM under 13 to watch the tournament. He told me
about a group of Iron Lady (yes! You read
it right! I watched Iron Lady movie years ago) from Thailand participating
in Sibu Super Series…so we made up our mind, and came straight to the venue. To
our horror, there were no parking outside the venue and from my car I could see
the venue was jammed pack with the crowd. Gah…luckily we manage to make a short
detour around the housing area and manage to find an empty car park just behind
the venue.
We arrived at 7.20 pm and waited for nearly two
hours before the next match involving the Iron Lady Team and ATM (Angkatan Tentera Malaysia). Finally, they
arrived in their red jersey with Chiang Rai VC (Chiang Rai Volley Ball Club) written at their back. We could see
them wearing makeup before they warming up! Hehehe..such a funny sight. Deep in
my mind I can guarantee the ATM team would leave no mercy on them and they
would walk out badly beaten.
As the match goes, Chiang Rai VC maintains their
composure, showing their skillful moves and delighting the crowd with their
creative serves!! They were really good, no kidding! Eventually, they beat ATM
team three sets straight!! (the ATM team
didn’t even manage to reach 20 points in all three sets!!). Gosh! How can
someone with soft attitude, fragile and (ahem)
flowery man beating a masculine, thick moustache and manly man with ease??? Hahahaha.
Anyway, I basically chose Natasha (his name wasn’t Natasha but me and my friend
named him that way for some reason, ghehehe)…and yes, I took some pictures
of them with my cheap headphone camera.

Even when
they were warming up they were willing
to pose for group photo…
In the final, Chiang Rai VC met Sibu team (sponsored by prudential, cough!).
Initially I thought the Sibu team was stronger than ATM, but unexpectedly
Chiang Rai VC triumph the final match with a clean three sets win!! As the
winner, they went home with RM 3000 prize. Their libero player was also chosen
as the best player.
Prize giving…
Sibu team…2nd

ATM team…3rd

The winner, Chiang Rai VC
Best male player…Chiang

Now I have full respect to the real Iron Lady and I
hope to see them again next year. Till then, C ya!
