Poker Face
Ever
since a few months ago, I realize that my money has been missing a lot. I
thought that I might have spent it somewhere without keeping the change. As
time goes by, I can see the pattern of my money missing. It disappears from my
wallet little by little. I know how much money I had before I left my wallet on
the table so every time I come back to my room, I notice small amount of money
disappears even when I’m still at home..Weird huh? Could it be a little green guy
is lurking around my house invisible to my sight?
Nope,
it wasn’t the green guy. Surprisingly, the money’s also missing from my sister’s
room. She’s in worse situation which involves hundreds of ringgit. After much
thought and consideration, we came to conclusion that someone has been steeling
our money right under our nose. I called that person Poker Face.
Today
I made a trap just to see just how far Poker Face willing to go. I check my wallet
(balance) and went out to our new house(we are doing ‘minor’ extension to our
house since last December). True to my expectation, it doesn’t take long before
I found out Poker Face has been entering my room. Upon checking my wallet, RM20
note was missing. The anger within me almost made me explode. As an adult, I tried
to calm down and think rationally. Eventually, I made two notices and stick it
outside my door with a massage. A few hours later, RM20 note was slipped under
my door. Poker Face has returned it. I think it is a good lesson for Poker Face
so I stick that note outside my room as well so that everybody in the house
would read and see the notices together with the bank note.
To
Poker Face, if you need money all you need to do is just ask. You might not get
the amount you asked for but at least you’ll get some. Please grow up and be a
responsible teenager. I see you grow up from your mother’s womb wishing you’ll
be a great person but look at you now, slowly letting the world to blind you
from right and wrong…keep doing that and sooner you’ll find out nobody will
help you when you get in trouble next time…change Poker Face before it’s
waaayyyy too late.
I wish my room is like this....
Anyway,
I’ve been busy painting my room today. I started late so I manage to paint the
ceiling only. Hopefully all are done tomorrow evening so I can have a good rest
before I paint other room…so how’s your day? Make sure you make the most out of
your limited time readers! Till then, c’ya!

World Series: UB Open
Sorry
for the lack of update...been really busy since the start of New Year. Anyway,
how's everybody doing? Hopefully the New Year brings lots of luck, wealth and
good health for you and your family. Haha, that's right...Chinese New Year is
approaching real fast and I couldn't believe that time, flies so fast.
By
the way, I'm enjoying my short break so I have some time to spare for my
precious (yet humble) blog here. Yesterday was tiring because of work but in
addition, I had a much needed manly competition between me and my friends...What
was it? Here they are...
Well, congrats
to John Rambo for winning the UB Open once again. Till we meet again in the
next UB Open…see ya!

2013 AD
I’m
writing my last post for this year…J I can’t
believe that we are going for 2013! This year has been a blessed year for me. I’d
achieved some of my dreams and pushing myself to the most this year and for
that I’m really proud of myself. As you know that today is
the last day of the year 2012, I want to thank the special people who have
touched my life with their concern and made my life more meaningful (you are one of them). Thanks for your
contribution to my life and may God almighty continue to give you abundant
blessing and happiness in the coming years too.
2. Fit in Fitness
3. Enjoy Life More
4. Managing My Debt/Financial
5. Help Others
6. Get Organized
2013 is
approaching within 24 hours but I’ve made some resolutions for this coming new
year…(made it but never 100% accomplish! haha).
I vow to appreciate loved ones
and spend more time with family and friends this year. Make plans to meet up
with friends for an evening of hi tea or take the family to an interesting trip
(it doesn’t matter if it is near or not as long as we had fun!). Work shouldn't
always come first!
As my age number has direct correlation
with the number of years, this resolution is inevitable! The evidence is in for
fitness. Regular exercise has been associated with more health benefits than
anything else known to man. Studies show that it reduces the risk of some
cancers, increases longevity, helps achieve and maintain weight loss, enhances
mood, lowers blood pressure, and even improves arthritis. In short, exercise
keeps myself healthy and makes me look and feel better. Why not make this the
time to start getting in shape for you as well? Sports (jogging, volleyball,
football…) have become my evening workout every day.
Given the hectic, stressful
lifestyles I had, it is no wonder that "enjoying life more" has
become my popular resolution in recent years. It's an important step to a
happier and healthier me! It’s not only limited like taking products designed
to bring balance to my body, mind and soul or just get out and try something
new! I’d take up a new hobby like photography. It isn’t an expensive
hobby so I’ll try perfecting my skills in photography next year.
Money was a big source of stress
in my life every year. I need to resolve some of my monthly debt (no thanks to study
loan, car loan, etc…) and spend the year getting a handle on my finances. Investment
is my priority and it's a promise that will repay itself many times over in the
year ahead.
Ok. It’s a popular, non-selfish
New Year's resolution, volunteerism can take many forms. Whether I choose to
spend time helping out at my town, mentoring a student, or building a house,
there are many nonprofit volunteer organizations that could really use my help
(subject to my availability…hehe). If
my time is really in short supply, maybe I can at least find it in me to donate blood, clothing and other
household items that I’m no longer need, rather than leaving them out by the
curb to fill up landfills.
On just about every New Year resolution
top ten list, organization can be a very reasonable goal. I need to live a more
organized life. No I don’t need a counselor to help me with this but adjusting
and tweaking some of my die hard habit will do just fine.
Alright, that’s a wrap. To my
readers; May the good times and treasures of the present come
the golden memories of tomorrow. Wish you lots of love joy and happiness. Happy New Year 2013!!

Personal Best
I went for my usual evening run today and to my
surprise there were sudden urge coming out from me to run faster. I was testing
myself to run faster this time and beat my personal best. It’s probably because
of too much adrenalin inside me after a day rest yesterday.
After making one round, I felt good and I tried to
run faster. The second and third round felt good and I maintain my speed and
pace until the 8th round (3.2 km). After my run, my legs were good,
heart and lungs work efficiently supplying oxygen to my muscle. I felt great
and I broke my own record time!
To my readers, please do something for yourself and
your body too. If you are not a fan of heavy workout, a simple walk every
evening is enough. Most importantly, control your food intake. Eat healthy and
try to add nutritious food in every meal. Foods can affect your body easily.
Initially it is hard but eventually you’ll get your result.
Anyway, Christmas getting nearer and I can’t wait
for another warm Christmas. The year seems to end so fast but next year looks
really promising and I can’t wait for New Year to come. Till then, take care of
yourself alright…J

Getting ready
I’ve been keeping
myself busy with some endurance and strength exercises lately. What is it for?
I have big ambition this year, my lifelong ambition, making the impossible
possible. For that, I need to jog regularly and doing some core body exercise.
So, what did I do? As
usual, it all started with 3.6km slow jog. Then I went here…
My playground…
I spent most of my evening
here but it’s so sad that the public doesn’t appreciate this place much. I’ve
never seen anyone using this infrastructure.
Yeah,
that’s me…
The
first day, I barely hang there for 1 sec, now I can swing around like a great
monkey…haha
It requires hard work
and determination, and I focus solely on my ambition while going through the
excruciating pain. So what’s my ambition? I’ll let you know soon…till then,
keep on exercising readers…
p/s: thank to my
unofficial photographer

Gawai Travelogue 2012 Part 2
Yeah, sorry for the late update. Anyway, there wasn’t any electricity so the longhouse was really hot (occasionally, the wind would come and cool down the heat…). That evening, I took my bath in cold stream(‘ai batu’…)..Yes! so relief…
No electricity so all we need was a small machine called generator…J
Yup, some of them were still ‘miring’, in fact, the majority of them were still ‘miring’…
We began the night by praying (‘miring’ and catholic’s prayer…). Most of them (12 doors…5 doors have embrace catholic…) belief in nature’s power, hence explain why ‘miring’ were so strong within their life.
‘Bebiau’…
We went door to door…
The ‘piring’ then was placed outside the house…
After that, we went door to door for catholic’s prayer…
That’s my uncle…I stayed in his house (simply because they have proper toilet…seriously..else I had to do my business in ‘ai batu’…haha)
Yes, that’s also my uncle, the veteran singer…
While waiting for the clock ticking@12 midnight, we had karaoke session and poco-poco…
Tuai rumah gathered all the community in front of the stage for countdown…
“ni ngau dek?pegai ngau dek…’ said the tuai rumah (when he saw me holding nothing except my digicam…)
Countdown…3, 2, 1…ohhhhhhaaaaaaaa!!
*gulp gulp…..ahhhhh
The spirit of togetherness among them, eating together while wishing each other Selamat Hari Gawai…
My cousin, emceeing….
The DJ…my errmmm…..my ‘son’..hahaha
Spectator…
The night continued with ‘suara emas’…
I slept@5 a.m….that’s how hardcore we were….hahaha….

Gawai Travelogue 2012
I wasn’t in the mood to celebrate Gawai away from home as I need rest as much as I can during this festive season. Strange enough I had a sudden change of heart when I bought the express boat ticket to KAPIT on the 30th May… Yes, I thought I really need to accompany my parents to Kapit after my last visit three years ago. Luckily, there weren’t much people going back on 31st so we managed to grab three tickets for ourselves.
I was expecting the express boat to carry extra load (extra passengers) and our seats were taken and true enough, our seats were taken. Again, we managed to claim our seat as there is seat number on our ticket.
This was half an hour before we reached Kapit, so there weren’t much passenger left…
The traffic is far much better that the previous year when express boats carry excessive luggage+ passenger for money and oftentimes, accidents happen here and there…
After almost two and half an hour latter we reached our destination…
We had lunch inside the wharf (there’s a canteen inside the modernize wharf nowadays…complete with wifi..hehe) After a short walked around Kapit town, we head down to the jetty to catch our ‘ride’...
Waiting for our ‘ride’…
Our ‘ride’, with my aunt, cousin and bro-in-law…
Look at the time now…
Entering the tight river, Sg Seranau, located exactly opposite Kapit’s town…
There were tall trees along the river and I like the feeling of thick jungle covering our top…
It took about 15 minutes to reach here. The water level wasn’t high enough so we had to stop here…
From here, we need to walk another 20 minutes to reach our new longhouse. After a short while, the narrow road end on another river (same river, it’s just that we need to cross the river again…)
How I miss this sight…’ai batu’ guys…
The pristine clear water…really cold and during my childhood, I spent most of my time playing with rocks like this…J
Taking a short break…
This was my first time visiting our new longhouse. As we walked, I could hear the noise coming from top of the hill. My mom told me that the longhouse was built on top of the hill but I never imagined that it would be a really high hill…
Lo and behold! Look at how steep it was…gosh…
Looking down…
The longhouse, partially finished…18 doors with my cousin as ‘tuai rumah’…
The (temporary) grand stage, Rantau Tapang’s celebration…simple yet sturdy…
No ‘ruai’ and perhaps it will complete before Gawai next year…
Grandma…
This was my journey to Kapit and sorry for this short story, I’ll continue my adventure in my next post.
