Creative way of placing ads

Heck! What the fish? I know it isn’t legal in Malaysia but can we place our ads creatively (or rather cheaply) and end up getting lots of attention?? Well, with both men and women now wearing their shorts at breathtaking heights, fashion chain Superette was presented with a unique opportunity to draw attention to their sale on short shorts. DDB Auckland ads were placed on the virgin thighs that are exposed in this latest trend, by putting indented plates across the inner city and fashion district bus stops, mall seats and park benches, so that when people sat down the message was imprinted on their thighs. This meant that as well as having branded seats, a veritable army of free media was created for Superette, with thousands of imprints being created and lasting up to an hour. Plus, by the nature of where the ads were placed, only the hippest young cats were seen advocating the brand.

Mr Yew’s mansion

Remember when I told you about bloggin’ on Mr Yew’s house in CNY Part 1?? He said the house was roughly 80-90 yrs-old…well, that would put it as a pre-war-huge-freakin’ rich-mansion! Hahaha…I bet it looks glorious in its old days… Here are some of the photos that I took last time…

Mr Yew greeting us…

As we enter….

We dunno what to expect…(*insert your own JAW’s movie background music here…)

Err..this is where they control the fire wood…

Ignore the stuffs above the kitchen, this is where they cook their food last time…

Sliding window, reminds me of my grandma’s house

Adjacent to the house…

Side view…so many window’s panel…

I guess they put a colorful flower pot on top of this pillar back then…

So ladies, Mr Yew is still single and available and those who wish to know him better you may PM me anytime…J TQ.

Blind Hope

For those who think their life sucks well think again.

Source from The Sun

BLIND Oscar O'Sullivan-Hughes is thought to be one of the youngest people to walk with a white stick - aged just TWO.

But because he's so little many people assume the cane is just a toy and tut at him if he gets in their way. Last night parents Kait Hughes and Anthony O'Sullivan told of their heartache over brave Oscar, born blind due to a rare genetic defect. Kait, 30, said: "He has used the cane since he's been able to walk.

with his white cane

"Often when we're out at the shops he'll stop to smell the bread, touch the fridges or smell the shampoos. "People will lose patience with him and stride right over his cane. They're so insensitive and will tut at him. We think it's because they're not aware, or because they see that he's so young and think he can't possibly be blind." But now Oscar will help raise awareness as he fronts a campaign for Henshaws Society for Blind People. Kait of Wythenshawe, Manchester, said the lack of information on child blindness had left the family struggling to get help.

Heartache ... Oscar O'Sullivan-Hughes with mum Kait

She revealed: "After he was born we noticed he wasn't looking at things. When our concerns were raised, we were told he had jaundice and his sight would be OK." Eventually the family learned Oscar had been left blind due to a condition called Lebers Congenital Amaurosis. But Kait still didn't know where to turn for help.

She said: "When we went to playgroups other parents seemed scared to look at him. Even when he got the cane I couldn't bring myself to accept he was blind. "It was only when we accessed the Henshaws service at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital that we were able to understand and learn to deal with his condition." The charity put Oscar's parents in touch with a couple whose son had the same condition. Kait said: "They reassured us their child was normal, and could move around and talk with his brother. We knew then that Oscar was going to be OK." Fiona Berry, of Henshaws, said: "Oscar is the youngest person by far that we've taught to use a white cane." The charity aims to raise £50,000 through the campaign fronted by Oscar.

What is Leber’s congenital amaurosis is??

LEBER'S congenital amaurosis is a rare inherited eye disease which appears at birth or in the first few months of life.
It affects around 1 in 80,000 people.
For any family a blind baby is an absolute tragedy because the baby and its parents depend so much on sight to communicate and to bond.
It's important they are encouraged to use the other senses - but they can live just as full a life as sighted children

To all readers (including me), please, stop moaning and appreciate our life more…

When Art at its AWESOMENESS!

When there’s an artist named Gabriel Dawe unleashing his creative artworks, millions admire his art. Using only Gutermann thread, wood, and nails, he manage to make a Rainbow Effect…You think I’m kidding? See for yourself…

Notes about the artist (from bio):

“Gabriel Dawe was born in Mexico City where he grew up surrounded by the intensity and color of Mexican culture. After working as a graphic designer, he moved to Montreal, Canada in 2000 following a desire to explore foreign land. In search for creative freedom he started experimenting and creating artwork, which eventually led him to explore textiles and embroidery—activities traditionally associated with women and which were forbidden for a boy growing up in Mexico. Because of this, his work is subversive of notions of masculinity and machismo that are so ingrained in his culture. By working with thread and textiles, Dawe’s work has evolved into creating large-scale installations with thread, creating environments that deal with notions of social constructions and their relation to evolutionary theory and the self-organizing force of nature.

After seven years of living in Canada and gaining dual citizenship as a Mexican-Canadian, Gabriel moved to Texas to pursue graduate school at the University of Texas at Dallas where he is presently a candidate for an MFA in Arts and Technology. His work has been exhibited in Dallas, Houston, Montreal, Toronto and Barcelona.”

Visual manipulation…

I know there are 7 classes of food. Carbohydrates, protein, mineral salts, just to name a few, are classes of food. Oftentimes, when I do my groceries’ shop, I’ll make sure that the foods don’t pass its expiry date. Other than that, I’ll check the ingredients and the condition of the packaging or if it is a canned food, it doesn’t have any dent part. So, when I was about to cook my lunch…wait, alright, I don’t cook. It was Tom Yam noodle (Cintan). So basically I was boiling my noodle…What caught my eyes was the packaging. In front, they wrote SUMBER PROTEIN (source of protein).

Wow, really? Sumber Protien??

I am very sure the sources of protein but seeing it on a maggie mee is really my first time. I didn’t check it in the first place when I bought it since I just grabbed it and paid my groceries hurriedly (I was on my way to my work place, a bit late and I’m gona end up with a looonnng queue of lorries, over limit lori balak *JPJ sleeping along the way*, and trailer, tortoise…ugh, where is the highway minister!??). Ok. Curiously I checked the ingredient and this was what I found…..

You kiddin’ me?

Tepung gandum(flour powder) is sumber protein??? I thought they add mince vege of some sort of nutritional herbs inside…really bluffing! Not compelled with what I just found, I double check with my other maggie(I know, I’m such a maggie person, lots of it inside my kitchen, hehe).

Nah, Mee Segera 3 in 1 flavour…

They didn’t state any protein source at the front packaging. Let’s see what they listed in ingredients…

That’s right, they also listed Tepung Gandum…

Hmm…sometimes when people doing business, the unfortunate victim would be the consumer. Tricking customer into buying their maggie by saying that their product contain source of protein isn’t right. Flour powder is somewhat protein, but stating that their product contains protein (when in fact it is the main ingredient in all noodle, all brands of noodle…) and obviously better than other brands of maggie is like manipulating the customer. Readers, please be aware of your consumerism rights!! Adios…

The end of DORAEMON..Tsk tsk

I’m not sure whether this is the official ending to The Doraemon series. The Doraemon cartoons have been the longest cartoon show till date with around 1787 episodes released starting from 2nd of April 1979 till 25th of March 2005…and yes, Doraemon was part of my childhood cartoon, and i think it's time to say farewell to Doraemon...

Goodbye
