Tips in choosing Men’s Pants

Having trouble finding a suitable pant? Raise your hand if you’re LAME and in need of help…like me. If you're looking for pants for yourself, you might need some suggestions to help you on your way to a great pair of britches. Therefore, I’m willing to do the lame job in searching the simplest tips available in choosing men’s pants. Well, here they are...A few things to remember: your BUDGET is important. It's very easy to spend a few hundred dollars on tastefully ripped jeans that will last six months before disintegrating, and if that's your thing, then by all means go for it. But when considering a budget, remember that most pants are around RM60, but obviously, there are less expensive and more expensive pairs--it just depends on what you need and what you can spend.

When buying pants, always try them on; you want to make sure that they will fit, and just think of new pants like preparing for a long trip--you want to pack your junk well!  With men's pants, there are a lot of styles available to you, and it really depends on your personal taste!

What Are the Basic Types?

1.       Pleated Dress Pants

Ø  Timeless and practical, albeit slightly out of fashion at the moment.
Ø  Can be lined or unlined, made of wool ,cotton ,twill  or synthetic fabric.
Ø  Look good with dress shirts ,sweaters ,blazers .
Ø  Pair with a loafer  or dress shoe.

Ø  Not for the fashion-conscious, but great for the utilitarian.
Ø  If you overload your pockets, you'll look like too bulky.
Ø  Skip these at the office and only wear on weekends.
Ø  Footwear options: boots or sneaks.

Slightly Less Common Trousers

1.       Linen

Ø  Great for warm weather.
Ø  Wrinkle easily and potentially transparent.
Ø  Best with sandals  and a casual shirt.

Ø  For those hiding something, be it fat, food or scabby knees.
Ø  Often in useful, ripstop fabrics.
Ø  Less flashy models are good for travel--they dry quickly and don't wrinkle.

4.       Zip-Off

Ø  Perfect for traveling to climates when you'll need shorts and pants.
Ø  Not for formal occasions, even if you love them.
Ø  Synthetic fibers air dry quickly.

5.       Leather

Ø  For rock stars and their imitators--just be careful of looking like a poser.
Ø  Supposed to be tight, but make sure you can get out of them.
Ø  Wear with something subtle on top like a crewneck sweater .

Ø  You may want to buy pants for the gym. Consider: workout pants ,sweat pants ,exercise pants .
Ø  Scrubs  should be worn only by doctors. Even if you are a big fan of Grey's Anatomy , you can't get away with these.
Ø  Elastic waists are easy to fit. Just make sure they're the right length.
Ø  And Remember, these pants are only for the gym or relaxing at home. They are not to be worn on dates or to work.
Ø  If you know your waist and inseam measurement, you should be able to tell which size S-M-L-XL to pick.

There you go..with so many choices available, I might need some time to find my own taste (I wish I have them all!!Pls God, make me rich..). I recalled I once shopped with one of my girl friend and we were having a hard time searching for a suitable jean for me. When she found one, I didn’t like it. She told me I don’t have any taste and wanted me to get rid of my VILLAGE LOOK! (I think even fried shrimp couldn’t beat my blush that day!)..She told me it will give a ‘BOLD STATEMENT’ about myself and eventually, she was RIGHT! Sometimes we have to trust ladies when it comes to clothing…Till then, c ya!
