Lookin’ good in FB

Try to be sexy but fail?

Every now and then I take photos of myself whenever I feel I look good or the environment around me makes me look cool in some way or another. But very often, my photo looks awfully taken or my facial expression makes me wana puke of myself. I believe many of us do feel the same way like I do and therefore, we need some help. Alright comrades, are you tired of looking less than perfect whenever you take a picture? Not being photogenic is a common reason why most people are not comfortable in front of the camera. However, everyone can learn to look flattering in photos by following a few useful guidelines(thank God no more ugly pictures in our FB).

Many people who are not comfortable around the camera believe that they are not photogenic. However, this idea is not entirely true. While some people seem to look their best in most pictures no matter what, the only reason why they manage to look fabulous with so much ease is that they instinctively know how to take advantage of their best qualities. Looking flattering in every picture is entirely possible as long as we are eager to expand our knowledge with a series of tips meant to help us emphasize our best features.

The first step for looking better in photos is discovering what are the elements that cause problems for us. It might be our posture, the lighting angle, an unnatural smile etc. If certain elements are recurrent the best approach would be to do our best to eliminate these factors. If you are unsure about what to do, try these tips for quick improvements:
(Here’s what I found on web, the easiest steps to follow)
Relax and modify the angle
è First of all, try to be as relaxed as possible when taking the picture. Any tension will have a negative result. When you are tense your whole body posture tends to change. Shoulders tend to go up contributing to a very unflattering image.

è Check your posture and try turning your body three quarters towards the camera so that your body will not be pointed directly towards the camera. Modifying the angle will help maximize the chances of having a good picture as most people tend to look a lot better when they are not facing the camera directly. This will also minimize the chances of getting a red eye.

Choose the best clothes, makeup(for ladies of course) and hairstyle
The way you look is the determining factor that contributes to the success of any picture.
Make sure that you dress in clothes that make you feel comfortable and choose colors that compliment your skin tone and avoid clothes that tend to wrinkle easily as well as positions that wrinkle your clothes. Solid colors are generally the most flattering when taking pictures.
è Pay attention to your make-up as well as your hairstyle. Do your best to conceal blemishes and check to see if your eyebrows won't appear as too dark or too thick in the picture. Apply powder on the eyebrows and try to hide a double chin with makeup when possible.
è If you are caught unprepared you can hide a double chin by trying to position yourself so that the camera is slightly below your eye level. Use a cream blush and apply lip gloss instead of applying shimmer for a dewy look. Also, to make your eye look bigger curl your lashes.

Choose the location properly
è It's important to make sure that the location you chose is not going to ruin the picture. Avoid places that are too sunny. When the light is not distributed evenly, your facial features are not emphasized properly. Make sure that there's nothing in the background that can make you look unflattering.
Practice
è From choosing the most flattering pose, to making sure that your seductive smile will never fail to impress practice is the one that ultimately gets us closer to perfection. By applying some of these tips you should be able to see improvements right away but learning to pose for the camera takes time..till then, c ya!
